An eventful year

What a year it has proved to be at St Bernadette's Primary School, San Gwann! One event followed another with such frequency that one and all were hard put to cope with it all.

The main event of the year was Prize Day. Rehearsals were held in earnest for this year's prize day musical, Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. An ideal children's story, consisting of Sweet Gardens, Chocolate Rivers and incredibly flavoured chewing-gum, hammered home for the children wonderful lessons to be learnt for life.

Together with their teachers Mrs Fsadni, Mr Spiteri and Mr Micallef, the children threw themselves into the rehearsals and produced a lovely, enjoyable and unforgettable spectacle.

The young actors loved their parts and brought the main characters to life with their natural talents at acting and dancing while the Oompa Loompas with their riot of colourful costumes brought the house down.

So successful was it that it was later filmed for Channel 22, the Education channel. And in the pipeline for next year is the musical Peter Pan, or so it is whispered. One wonders, will they really fly?
