A Zebbug man charged with conspiring to traffic in cocaine was yesterday granted bail against a Lm10,000 deposit.

Darren Charles Desira, 26, of Zebbug, was arraigned in court last December with Guzeppi Sacco, 45, of Qrendi, following a seizure of two kilogrammes of cocaine in Marsa that month.

Sacco had been granted bail earlier.

The operation also led to the arrest and arraignment of another two men, Joseph Borg, 39, of Gzira and John Sultana, 38, of Xaghra.

Borg was stopped near Spencer Hill in Marsa soon after he alighted from the Sea Malta vessel mv Zebbug. The police are claiming drugs were found in his possession.

Police Inspector Neil Harrison is prosecuting.
