No one was injured yesterday when a fire broke out on board the ship Wilma, which is currently at Dock Four of the Drydocks ship repair 'yard for maintenance.

The fire started with some wood being used by workers in a hold, just after 9 a.m. The smouldering fire was finally put out by civil protection personnel at 2.30 p.m., the Civil Protection Department said.

The operation, led by Anthony Pisani, was carried out by the Corradino and Hal Far fire stations using at least seven fire engines.
