Synergene was recently represented at the annual conference of the European Society for Human Genetics (ESHG) in Strasbourg last month.

The ESHG conference is the most important meeting of European Geneticists that is attended by over 1,700 participants, with over 80 exhibitors. The conference focuses on human genetics both at the diagnostic and research level. The conference is Europe's largest gathering of scientists in the molecular genetics community.

All major European, and in some cases American, biotechnology companies are present at this meeting either through a representative person or alternatively by promoting the company by means of a stand.

Synergene participated with a 20 square metre stand at the conference to promote its wide range of molecular diagnostic services which include diagnostic testing, genetic identification and custom-based research. The delegation was made up of Dr Patrick Willems, Dr Claire Bartolo, Kevin Camilleri, Brigitte Busuttil, Svetlana Pulis and Rosienne Farrugia.

"This was an excellent opportunity to present Synergene to an international community of scientists involved in the field of genetics - who are after all our main customers.

"Therefore presence in this conference is important, and fits in line with the company's objective to service an international market," Dr Patrick Willems, director of Synergene Belgium, and Dr Claire Bartolo, chief scientist at Synergene Malta said.

The ESHG provided the ideal opportunity for Synergene to create awareness within an international community of molecular genetics scientists and researchers - the prime target markets for Synergene.
