The article about bio-fuels (June 5) can mislead the public. It was stated that "bio-diesel entails clean burning: no pollutants, including gases that cause global warming, are emitted".

Unfortunately, your correspondent fails to mention that carbon dioxide (CO2) is the main by-product of combustion and it is the CO2 emissions which are responsible for global warming.

To claim that the combustion of bio-fuels does not add to global warming is not correct and this needs to be pointed.
