Le Meridien Hotels and Resorts recently organised the annual awards ceremony for the "Employees of the Year" from all their hotels worldwide.
Joanne Formosa, Employee of the Year, at Le Meridien Phoenicia, Malta, travelled to London to celebrate with 140 other employees from over 60 countries.
Ms Formosa was chosen to receive her award because of her "total commitment towards her work in the accounts department, and her enthusiasm for her role on the Staff Social Committee, which organises regular events for all the staff," according to Le Meridien Phoenicia general manager Ben Sington.
Ms Formosa and all the other winners spent four days in London staying at Le Meridien Grosvenor House where the highlight was meeting the "Queen" (an impersonator, not Her Majesty!) at the presentation ceremony.
The trip was packed with activities including a visit to the Tower of London, a ride on the London Eye, lunch at Le Meridien Waldorf, and a night out in London's theatre district to see The Lion King, and finally a gala dinner at the Cafè Royal in Regent Street.
"What an unforgettable experience. I felt so proud working within Le Meridien Group and meeting so many exceptional people from all over the world.
"I never felt so pampered, they really looked after us. I wish that all my colleagues at Le Meridien Phoenicia would be able to experience something like this," Ms Formosa said of her trip.
Ms Formosa is the sixth winner of Employee of the Year award since the Phoenicia joined Le Meridien Hotels and Resorts.
