We live in the UK and like all Maltese all over the world, we are very proud of Ira Losco and her success.

Coming second is a success and an honour for Malta, but why not first? We all seem to agree that when it comes to voting the nations use what they call politics and neighbourly consideration. Well, if that is so then Malta has no near neighbours as such to help it with their votes. So it must have been a very beautiful song and performed expertly for it to get to second place.

Somebody suggested to me that a lot of cheating goes on when it comes to voting. Now, that is politically incorrect, or is it?

I have three questions :

1. How come the Latvia voting announcer said, sorry, Ira? Was he rubbing it in?

2. How come the very same person said to the presenters "See you in Riga next year" when there was still one country to vote, which happened to be Lithuania, their immediate neighbour?

3. I want to know how many people voted for Cyprus in Malta by the televoting system, for Malta to give the 12 votes to Cyprus. Please come forward all you who voted for Cyprus and make yourselves known. What? Is there more than a dozen?

Anyway, none of this detracts from the success that Ira Losco achieved. You made us proud Ira.
