The House of Representatives is this afternoon due to resume its debate on the transfer of government properties to a number of sport and philanthropic organisations. The debate started last week.

The other items on the agenda are: bill to amend the Attorney General and Counsel for the Republic (constitution of office) Ordinance, committee; bill to regulate special funds, second reading; bill to amend the European Convention Act, second reading; Local Councils Act (amendment) Bill, second reading; Pensions Ordinance (amendment) Bill, second reading; Producers` Organisations Bill, third reading; Food Safety Bill, third reading; motion by the prime minister on the situation in the country, continuation.

The committee for the consideration of bills is today due to start debating the Employment and Industrial Relations Bill. The opposition had asked for the debate to be held in committee of the whole House but the government objected. The GWU is insisting that the government adopt amendments it is proposing to the bill.
