Call for inquiry
Alternattiva Demokratika has called for an independent inquiry by the Ombusdman regarding the plight of Eritrean immigrants who are requesting refugee status.
AD`s spokesman for home affairs, Jurgen Balzan said the inquiry should see whether the Eritrean immigrants are being treated humanely at Ta` Kandja.
AD, he said, insists that legal services should be provided by the government to the Eritreans to help assist them in their appeal for refugee status and their complaints regarding their treatment.
