A Balzan teenager was yesterday placed under probation for two years for stealing a telephone set from the police station.

The 16-year-old boy pleaded guilty to stealing the telephone set from the Balzan police station and causing under Lm50 in damages to the detriment of the government on the night between March 14 and 15, 2002.

Police Inspectors Denis Theuma and Simon Galea prosecuted.

Dr Ivan Gatt appeared for the boy.
