Gozo special needs draft report discussed

The steering committee set up by the government to coordinate a study assigned by the European Commission to highlight the special needs of Gozo yesterday discussed a draft report with a number of Gozitan associations.

Attending the meeting were the Gozo Business Chamber, the Gozo Tourism Association, the Gozo Cooperative of Greenhouse Farmers Ltd, the Gozo Cooperative of Poultry Producers Ltd., Koperattiva Gozitano and the Gozo Cooperative of Cheese Producers Ltd.

The study is being conducted to assist the authorities to better address Gozo`s specific peculiarities during the accession negotiations with the European Union.

This draft report proposes practical measures and initiatives conducive to the elimination or mitigation of the effects of these handicaps.
