Bank of Valletta has categorically denied accusations that it is instigating senior managers to sign a declaration that they are "unconditionally committed to the bank and are opting for a separate package for their grade".

BoV was referring to press statements issued by the Malta Union of Bank Employees and the General Workers` Union concerning accusations levelled at the bank.

The bank reaffirmed its position that the sole and exclusive recognition for the managerial categories, which includes its senior managers, is vested in MUBE, with whom negotiations on a revised collective agreement are in progress.

The bank also stated that if any such alleged initiative was being undertaken, BoV was certainly not a party to it.
