Peppi Azzopardi yesterday filed a writ for libel damages in the Magistrates` Court against Alfred Briffa, editor of the newspaper It-Torca.

Azzopardi asked the court to declare that the article "Puntini", published on May 19 in the supplement of It-Torca, was libellous in his regard. He also asked the court to condemn Briffa to pay him libel damages.

Dr Anthony Cremona signed the writ.
