Forty-one army recruits have voluntarily donated blood at the SMOM (Sovereign Military Order of Malta) Blood Bank in Floriana.

The event marked the end of a 20-week long basic training course which was run by 1 Regiment AFM Training Section at Lyster Barracks, Hal Far, under the direction of Lt Nicholas Cassar.

The event was co-ordinated by Dr Raymond Galea (SMOM).

Over the past years, the regiment has taken part in a number of campaigns organised by similar entities. Soldiers are continuously encouraged to donate blood on an individual basis, the AFM said.
