Funds for September 11 victims
The Maltese-American Association has presented a cheque for $5,843.08 to US Ambassador Anthony Gioia to help families of the victims of the September 11 terrorist attacks.
The proceeds were collected at a Mass in memory of the victims, which was celebrated by Mgr Philip Calleja at St John`s Co-Cathedral last year, as well as through local bank accounts opened purposely for the families of the victims by the association.
The cheque was forwarded to the American Red Cross Liberty Disaster Fund.
