The 5-star Hotel Inter-Continental Malta in St George`s Bay is set to open in the autumn. The hotel is owned by the Eden Leisure Group, and is managed by Inter-Continental Hotels & Resorts, part of the Six Continents hospitality group. Six Continents is one of the largest hospitality groups in the world, with more than 3,200 hotels and resorts.
The 15-storey Hotel Inter-Continental will have 451 guestrooms of different categories. It will be set around 4,000 sqm of gardens and will have swimming-pool facilities at roof level. There is to be a variety of restaurants and bars, and full conference and banqueting services.
General manager Fethi Abdennadher, who has been in Malta since last September to oversee the progress of the hotel development, said it would add a new dimension to Malta`s conference and incentive tourism market.
The Hotel Inter-Continental`s interior design is also a new look for Maltese hotels. Fresh, contemporary and colourful, it is the work of international award-winning design team Di Leonardo.
"We trust we will redefine the meaning of elegance, hospitality and service," Mr Abdennadher said.
