Ward being refurbished
The ward for elderly women patients at the Gozo General Hospital is being refurbished and modernised, in an effort to take some of the burden off the residential homes for the elderly.
Gozo Minister Giovanna Debono visited the various female wards at the hospital yesterday, on the occasion of Mother`s Day.
She said that the elderly women`s ward would be able to take an additional 21 patients, increasing the number of beds available by a third. The ward would also have its own separate access from the hospital ringroad.
