The European Schoolnet describes itself as a partnership of 23 European ministries of education working in collaboration with the European Commission and technology/business partners.

Through its online activities it aims at "developing learning for schools, teachers and pupils across Europe".

"We provide insight into educational use of information and communications technology in Europe for policy-makers and education professionals," says the Schoolnet website.

Schoolnet runs a vast range of virtual activities, among which is eSchoolnet, Europe`s leading education portal for teaching, learning, collaboration and innovation that seeks to create "a vibrant European community of educators and learners".

The portal offers teachers outstanding resources, discussions, news, classroom activities, collaborative tools, practice examples and training opportunities.
