Iz-Zeffiena, a three-act spectacle of music and dance, is to be performed in the Astra Theatre in Gozo on Saturday at 7.30 p.m.

The production staged by Teatru Astra is written by Canon Joe Mejlak and is set in Spain.

Taking part is a 60-strong cast, including well-known Gozitan actors Maria Schembri, Franco and Cettina Scicluna, Maria Zammit, Anton Said, Marion Zammit, George Refalo, John Mercieca and Godwin Azzopardi.

Special guests include students from the Tanya Bayona Princess Poutiatine Academy of Ballet. The Gozitan folk group Astra will also be taking part.

An original set of Spanish costumes is being prepared by the Teatru Astra costume designers, George Farrugia, Manwel Grima and Doris Farrugia.

Booking is open daily, between 6 and 8 p.m. at the Teatru Astra.
