Gaetano Cutajar, 39 from Qormi, was rushed to hospital in a private car after suffering burns in the lower half of his body while working on fireworks production at St Gabriel fireworks factory in Iklin on April 28.
The fire was put out by people on the site using a fire extinguisher. The St Gabriel factory makes fireworks for the Balzan feast.
The man is the first to die in a fireworks factory incident since March 2000, when 70-year-old Baldassare Facciol died in an explosion in Qormi.
