Obituary

Buhagiar. On May 6, at St Luke`s Hospital, Karmena, of Ghaxaq residing at Zabbar, aged 85, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Johnny, Leli, Fredu, Bro Charles Buhagiar of De La Salle College, Georgina, Rita, Tony, Maria, Lizio and Lucy and their respective spouses, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her husband`s brothers and sisters, other relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves St Luke`s Hospital tomorrow at 8 a.m. for Our Lady of Grace, Zabbar, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m. followed by interment in the family vault at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi will be greatly appreciated.
Lord grant her eternal rest.

CHETCUTI. On May 6, at his residence in Santa Lucija, DAVID, aged 67, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Emilda née Mamo, his daughter Elaine and her husband Joe Farrugia, his son Raymond and his wife Pamela, his brothers and sisters and their families, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P.
Mass praesente cadavere will be said tomorrow at 8.30 a.m. at Santa Lucija parish church, followed by interment at Zabbar cemetery.

PREVI. On May 5, at St Luke`s Hospital, RAFFAELLA née Alessandro of Senglea, residing at Paola, widow of Carmelo, aged 85, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her daughter Cettina, wife of Jimmy Calleja, her beloved grandchildren Maria and David, her sisters-in-law Roberta Valvo, Rosalie Tonna and Frances Camilleri, relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves St Luke`s Hospital today at 8 a.m. for Christ the King parish church, Paola, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Donations to Villa Mgr. Gonzi, Siggiewi, will be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

Stopford. MEGS, suddenly on May 4, at the age of 83. Loved and loving wife of the late Michael Stopford, mother to Laura, Robert, Charlie (deceased) and Tess.
The funeral will be held in England at East Morden on Sunday. Details of a memorial service to be held in Malta will be announced later. R.I.P.

Prayer Meeting

The Mary Queen of Peace prayer meeting will be held on Thursday, May 9 at 6.15 p.m. at St Joseph Institute, St Venera. Fr Alex Borg, OFM, will celebrate Mass.

Mission Fund Mass

Mass is being celebrated for the deceased benefactors of the Mission Fund at Our Lady of Lourdes Chapel in Floriana on Friday at 7 p.m.

Anniversary Mass

Zurrieq local council is organising Mass in the parish church on Friday at 6.30 p.m. to mark the first anniversary of the death of mayor Joe Cassar. A wreath laying ceremony will follow at the Joe Cassar Community Centre in Zurrieq, named after him.

Dog Lost

A brown Boxer bitch, with some white on the neck, was lost in the Balzan area on Friday afternoon. The dog responds to the name of Sheila. Anyone having information about its whereabouts should call 99421705 or 99820212. A reward will be given.

The water supply in Qawra will be suspended today because of maintenance works, the Water Services Corporation said. It is expected to be restored by tomorrow so long as no technical hitches are encountered.
