Obituary

MICALLEF. On May 5, at St Luke`s Hospital, SAVIOUR (Sunny), aged 58, of Mdina, comforted by the rites of Catholic Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Carmen, née Azzopardi, his children David and his wife Marian, Sue and her husband Chris, his parents John and Adeodata, his brother Philip, his sisters Carmen, Rena, Doris, Joyce and their respective spouses, his grandchildren Andrè, Nicholas and Francesco, his in-laws Josephine Chetcuti, Charles, Vincent of Canada, Lino Pace Bonello, widower of Kate, Edwidge and Marion, widows of Percy and Sam respectively of Canada, other relatives and friends, particularly his fellow workers at Air Malta.
The funeral leaves St Luke`s Hospital at 2 p.m. today for the Metropolitan Cathedral in Mdina, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m. followed by interment at the Sta Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi, will be appreciated.
May the Lord grant him eternal peace.

PACE-O`SHEA - PATRICK JOSEPH. We miss Paddy a great deal, he was a favourite brother, especially so we remember him very fondly on the first anniversary of his demise. Tony, Cecilia, Oonagh and Nick.

SCICLUNA - MARY. In ever loving memory of a most beloved mother and grandmother, today being the 18th anniversary of her demise. Lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her daughter Corinne, her son Henry and her grandchildren.

VELLA - MARIA. Treasured memories of a dearest mother and grandmother on the fifth anniversary of her demise. So deeply missed. Carmen and Ray, Vanessa and Raymond Jr.

ZAMMIT. Treasured memories of Professor OSCAR ZAMMIT, MD, FRCOG, Senior Obstetrician, on the 39th year of his passing away. Always remembered by his two sons, daughter-in-law and grand-daughters.

Mother`s Day Concert

The G.M. Fra Antoine de Paule Philharmonic Society of Paola is holding its annual Mother`s Day concert at its premises on Sunday at 7.30 p.m.

The Christ the King band, under the direction of Mro Kevin Abela, will play works by Otto M. Schwarz, Dizzy Stratford, Naohiro Inai, John Williams and by Maltese composers David Sammut and Sigmund Mifsud.

Soloists Christine Vella and David Sammut on the saxophone, Sigmund Mifsud on the trumpet and baritone Ivan Vella will take part in the programme.

A poem entitled "Meta Nhares f`Wiccek" by Immanuel Mifsud will be read by Joyce Zahra and her daughter Maria.

Folklore Society

Maria Rosa Pisani is the new president of the Malta Folklore Society. Outgoing president Guido Lanfranco has been elected honorary president.
