Drill fire exercise on Sea Malta ship

Sea Malta carried out a drill fire exercise on Sea Malta`s vessel Maltese Falcon while the vessel was sailing from Tunisia to Genova on Friday.

"These fire drills are controlled simulations of realistic mishaps and are carried out on a regular basis as part of a programme to satisfy a rigorous International and Safety Management (ISM) certification of the vessel," the company said.

The purpose of these drills is to keep the ship`s personnel well trained to handle such situations when help was normally far. For this reason such drills, though scheduled and well- preplanned, are carried out by surprise in order to test the crew alertness to react effectively," the company said.
