The health services section of the Union Haddiema Maghqudin said yesterday the health division had stopped the vacation leave of ambulance drivers who were currently following industrial action. The decision, it said, undermined the employees` right to take industrial action.

The UHM said it had expressed its anger at this "illegal act" in a letter to the division.

Ambulance drivers are on partial industrial action, answering only emergency calls, after the government turned down their request for an allowance after they attended a first aid course.
