Maltese Falcon ends in fourth place

The Maltese Falcon, skippered by Alfie Manduca, registered a remarkable result when finishing fourth overall in the Roma Per Tutti International race held in Italy.

The Maltese Falcon crossed the finishing line of the 535 nautical mile race on Thursday night at 11.45 p.m., five days after the start of the event in Rome.

This is certainly a great achievement for the Maltese boat when one considers the severe competition that this international race offers.

The regatta was won by Grampus, a participant in the Middle Sea Race, ahead of Silk 2. Shiva just managed to grab the third place by only beating the Maltese Falcon by just two hours.

Hot favourite Riviera di Rimini, winner of the MSR in 1998, with famous skipper Giorgio Benvenuti and Italian politician Massimo D`Alema only managed to place ninth.

It is expected that the Maltese Falcon will be among the podium winners when the classes are declared later on.
