A doctor yesterday filed a judicial letter in the First Hall of the Civil Court holding the Police Commissioner liable for damages.

Dr Marthese Ellul called on the Police Commissioner to make good the damages she sustained following criminal charges filed against her.

Dr Ellul said that on April 10 she had been acquitted of charges against her in the case of Maria Pace of Siggiewi who had died in St Luke`s Hospital of natural causes on August 11, 1999.

Dr Ellul said she would take judicial action to make good the damages she had sustained in the event of the Police Commissioner`s default.

Dr Angelo Farrugia signed the judicial letter.
