30 permits for naval visits

So far this year the government issued 30 permits clearing the way for foreign naval vessels to visit Malta up to June, Foreign Minister Joe Borg said.

He said embassies submitting applications for such permits were reminded that standing regulations laid down that visiting vessels could not carry nuclear armaments.

Dr Borg informed Labour MP George Vella that none of the ships covered by the 30 permits were nuclear powered.
