University non-academic staff

The parastatal section of the Union Haddiema Maghqudin has threatened to take industrial action if the university fails to offer counter-proposals for a revised collective agreement for non-academic university staff by Monday.

The union said the previous agreement expired at the end of last year and that despite having drawn the university`s attention towards this fact, there was no sign that the institution was prepared to negotiate the agreement.

In a letter to the university, the union also emphasised other pending issues, including the filling of vacant posts at the university as well as the absence of a first aid room as required by law.
